ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I consider it the artist's responsibility to portray their highest self. Art is a portal through which the viewer takes an internal journey into consciousness and growth. My wish is that these paintings allow all who see them to be transported to a place of peace and renewal, where dreams and inner visions can heal and enlighten.

EDUCATION

BFA Course study at Concordia College Moorhead, Pacific Lutheran University and University of Minnesota; still working. Studied Classical Realistm at the Atelier in Minneapolis and The Minnesota River School of Fine Arts. I have painted in Plein Air style over 20 years after studying with Minnesota artists Richard Kochenash and Brian Stewart. My personal wanderings into various aspects of art making are intensive, ongoing and lifelong. The journey never ends.

COLLECTIONS

My work resides in corporate and private collections in North America, Europe and the South Pacific.

Testimonials

“Mark’s art takes me to a higher place and reminds me there’s so much more to life than what I see with my physical eyes. I love that his art ranges from playful to deeply spiritual!

When I look for a new piece, I also connect with the titles of his art and see which ones open my heart. The title becomes part of my experience.

I feel truly happy, joyous, and enlivened each time I look at the pieces of Mark’s art in my home!”
